After finishing this course, you should be able to:

  • Find out what the APM stages are for and how they work.
  • To make decisions based on data, follow the best practices for HR analytics.
  • Find the HR metrics and standards that are important for the organization’s goals.
  • You can use Excel to look at data about people to find trends and other useful information.
  • Give a short talk on the results of the data analysis.

Both in-person and online versions of this 2-day course are available. Activities range from working in small groups to working independently, and there are opportunities for both formal and informal evaluations.

9. Pluralsight’s R Programming Fundamentals

You can choose from three classes on our list that cover R for HR analytics.

It is possible to do human resources analytics in Excel, but it has a few big flaws. In order to do statistics, data visualization, and models, you can use the open-source program R. You can work with data and do statistical computations with the computer language for R. As is usual in HR analytics, it gives you statistical tools and the ability to see large amounts of data.

Standard tools for HR data comparisons and analysis, like Access, Microsoft Excel, and SPSS, aren’t as powerful as R. This language integrates all of these features into one, making it easy to load, edit, and display data. In this case, R does require you to write code, which makes it harder to learn.

This means that R is also harder to learn than Excel. R, on the other hand, lets you do more complicated analytics than Excel and gives you access to a huge range of computing options.

Pluralsight’s Programming with R course is a great way to start with R. This class teaches you the fundamental syntax for R programming as well as the different types of data and their forms. It gives you practice using R and getting a feel for how it works.

10. Johns Hopkins University’s R Programming

R Programming is a more complex study in R that you can take at Johns Hopkins University. You should already know how to use R for this higher-level program, which will take you about fifty-seven hours to finish.

You will learn the basics of R in the beginning of the study before moving on to more advanced topics. There are four classes that teach useful skills like writing R functions, importing data into R, and programming in R.

By the course’s conclusion, you’ll know how to begin scripting and how to use complex statistical methods in R to analyze data effectively.

11. AIHR Academy’s HR Data Science in R

To be successful in People Analytics, you need to know how to use predictive modeling, which is one of the most powerful tools you can use. You can get these skills by taking the human resources Data Science in R course. Since the training starts with the fundamentals, you don’t need to know anything about R or programming to take it.

It will teach you how to use R to make predictive HR analytics models that can help you solve HR problems. The course goes over managing data in R, exploring and visualizing data in R, and three interactive case studies that look at different parts of data analysis. It takes about sixteen hours to finish the six self-paced courses.

12. Waikato University’s Data Mining with Weka

The software Weka is used to mine data. It has a visible and clickable user interface, so you don’t have to code like you would in R. Instead, you can “drag and drop” with your mouse.

The New Zealand University of Waikato made this open-source program. It has many data mining methods and display options. Algorithms for machine learning include Bayes, decision trees, simple rules, grouping, and meta-classifiers.

The course “Data Mining with Weka” goes over these methods and the statistics behind them. This will help you learn how data mining works in general and how it can be used with different types of info about individuals.

Professor Ian Witten shows you how to use Weka in a series of useful videos that make up this free course. In the first thirty minutes of this class, you will build a decision tree and run your first data mining algorithm.

You don’t need to know how to code to take this online HR analytics course. It’s great for people who don’t have to analyze data for work but still want to learn the basics. You can quickly do many different studies with Weka because it has an easy-to-use interface.

13. University of Amsterdam’s Basic Statistics

R teaches you how to use numbers to make programs work. There is a risk, though, in doing statistics without actually knowing them. Without a strong background in statistics, it is hard to fully understand the pros and cons of human resources analytics. So, when we talk about training in HR analytics, we need to include a study in statistics. Stats are what data science is all about in the end.

You can learn how to calculate and analyze statistics in the Basic Statistics course at the University of Amsterdam. It looks at how to use descriptive statistics, how probability works, and how to find trends in data. It also goes over how to use statistical software to make these numbers and figures. All of these ideas are useful in data science and are a must-have for anyone who wants to get into analytics.

It takes about 26 hours of self-paced work to finish the course. Basic Statistics is one of five modules that make up the Methods and Statistics in Social Sciences specialization. This specialization goes into even more detail about quantitative study methods. Along with people analytics, the other classes in this specialization are also useful.

In conclusion

Maintaining a growth mindset can help your HR job in the future as you learn new and more advanced skills. As a professional, you should definitely get training in HR statistics because it is a skill that people want. We hope that this list of classes will help you as you learn more about HR analytics.
