Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt in San Marcos Parking Lot Crash

A 23-year-old motorcyclist sustained serious injuries Sunday in a collision with a car in San Marcos, authorities said.

The crash took place around 6:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Fry’s Electronics store, situated on South Bent Avenue, between West San Marcos Boulevard and Grand Avenue, according to police.

Sgt. Charles Morreale said the preliminary investigation shows that the motorcyclist was heading northbound when he collided with the driver’s side of a westbound Acura sedan.

As a result of the impact, the motorcyclist was seriously wounded and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Luckily, his injuries were not life-threatening, the sergeant added.

The occupants of the two-door Acura remained unhurt in the crash.

Morreale ruled out alcohol to be a factor in the accident.
