Driver Killed After Crashing Into the Back of a Semi Truck in San Diego

Linda Vista | San Diego County – On Wednesday afternoon, a man from Oceanside drove his white Nissan pickup truck northbound on state route 163 in Linda Vista when it collided into the rear of a semi-truck in front of it.
According to California Highway Patrol officials, the crash occurred at 3:40 p.m. and while the Nissan truck driver’s speed was unknown, the semi truck in front of it was driving at a slower speed.
The Nissan truck driver did not survive the collision and was declared dead at the scene of the car accident, according to CHP. The semi truck’s driver did not suffer any injuries.
The cause of the car accident is still under investigation as officials try to determine if alcohol, drugs, or other factors were involved.
