1 Man Killed by Reckless Truck Driver in Riverside While Attending Fundraiser

Colton, Riverside County – A 50 year old man named Ruben “Reno” Colunga was struck and killed by a reckless truck driver in a tragic incident this last weekend at a fundraiser.
The tragedy occurred when a man that was asked to leave a fundraiser came back to the event with company, starting to recklessly drive in the event’s location. The cars were speeding and driving around in circles.
Upon hearing the commotion, Ruben went outside to see and a 29 year old truck driver by the name of Roberto Ponciano struck him down and severely injured Ruben before leaving the scene in a hit and run. Ponciano was caught eventually caught by police and is being held without bail, awaiting his court appearance on July 30, 2020.
Another man, Gary Martinez, suffered injuries in the incident as well. Ruben Colunga’s injuries were so severe, his legs were amputated, his spleen was ruptured, and he suffered internal bleeding. Colunga did not survive his injuries from the car incident.
